Today, I was excited to finally get an interview after being unemployed since getting out of the military nearly a year ago. Turns out, they weren't even interested in hiring me. They'd just never met a female Marine before. FML

Jeez, that's terrible. What were they planning on doing? Stare at you, say "wow, a female marine, it really is true" and send you on your way? I'm sorry to hear, OP. I'm sure you'll find a good job soon. For all it's worth, thank you for your service.

I can't believe they had the nuts to waste your time and resources like that, and the gall to get your hopes up as well. They are total fuckwads and you are lucky you didn't end up working with that level of moron. Chin up love. The right job will come along.

Holy shit, are you for real right now? Did you read the FML at all?

Use your GI Bill and go to school. They pay you to go to school.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time getting interviews. Ex-military are usually highly desirable for many civilian jobs. Why do you think you're missing out?

This could've been the first application submitted. Being unemployed for a year doesn't necessarily mean OP was actively searching that entire time.

Spread that little event everywhere. And makes sure to include the names of the people who interviewed you. Any time the business comes up, mention hat they basically yanked you around because they wanted to gawk. Hopefully, people will actually show some of that pride in the military that they spread when trying to tell people to go IN to the army, and make the ******* suffer.

Move out of California, other states have much lower unemployment rates and actually value military experience.

The real reality is that you're being an asshole.

You, are an idiot. Let's pretend for a moment that you're right. If American troops were invading other countries, stealing oil, and whatever else you deluded assholes complain about. Why would you target a soldier directly? The soldiers in ANY military deserve respect, because of how hard it is to achieve that. We could be talking about Axis soldiers in WWII, and they still deserve more respect then someone like you, or a common civilian. Now, back to reality. There will be a time in our life where America will go to war. When this happens, are you going to be prosecuting the soldiers then? I'm willing to bet the answer is no. As long as they're dying instead of you, what's the problem? Right? You need to clear your head and reset your priorities, a vast majority of people in the military are respectable and good people. Now to address that, of course there are going to be the crooked people serving. It doesn't matter where you look, there are going to be people looking for problems. However, you can't form your opinion on the whole branch based on a couple people. If you start to group people based on their role in life, you're no better than what you're falsely prosecuting them for.

I love how my comment was moderated and yet had 4 thumbs up. Some people don't like the truth.

If you're still looking for work inbox me. From one marine to another I have some leads for you that might help in finding gainful employment.

Is there any way you can report them for that if you have proof?
