Not the reassurance you were looking for eh? I too am sick of the cliche mantra all you phony sympathetic posters pollute these generic threads with... Some advice original poster...this is what relationships are like. Don't listen to these morons about dumping someone over a comment you set him up for because frankly if you dump every man that lets an unflattering comment slip through once in a while you can just go ahead and get used to spending the rest of your life alone. Relationships aren't perfect and are defined by how you work through your problems and rough spots not by constantly avoiding confrontation with each other.

I'm sorry, but if he were serious (which seems to not be the case, as many have pointed out), saying something like that is a total dick move. It would express his desire to do better, and who wants to be in a relationship like that? There's a world of difference between "that shirt doesn't look good on you" and "I can't believe I'm having sex with you".

I agree 75 - life has its bumps and relationships never last if you can't deal with some dumbassery chances are you won't have long lasting relationships.
