mrsmahdi tells us more.
They fired me in a clever way by telling me they didn't have anything for me to teach and that me going on maternity leave was too hard on the students I had so someone else was doing my classes. So I was not officially fired so much as pushed out and replaced

That's messed up. You fight for your job. That's discrimination
sue. it's against the law here in the us to for you for pregnancy. You'll get a huge settlement..any lawyer will love to take your case
Umm...that's like super illegal. I'd call HR if the school has one and then take it to court. There's a federal law to protect pregnant women. I'd continue going to work until they get the hint.
That is very very illegal. Gender discrimination and all that. At this point I wouldn't want to work for those assholes, but definitely check in with a lawyer to see what your rights are in the situation
Pretty sure that's illegal
I am married have been for 4 years before getting pregnant. I had worked there for 2 years. They fired me without warning
Ugh, even more stupid. Did they actually cite your pregnancy as the reason, or come up with some bull excuse?
Illegal, do yourself a favor and call them on it. Doesn't mean you need to go back and work for them but you could sue. I am usually not one to say sue, but in this case what they did was beyond wrong.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, though. Not enough people are wishing you the best of luck, joy and happiness.
maybe because of the health implications that pregnancy brings with it is the. main reason..
there is definitely more to the story.

HR then court. You can't be fired for being pregnant as a teacher.
That's incredibly stupid. I'm sure you'll find a better job in not time. Good luck with the baby. I'm sure you'll be an amazing mother.
