Today, I was first in line at a stoplight. After five minutes, with a line of cars behind me, the light was still red. People behind me started honking, so I decided to just go. Halfway across the way, I was greeted by a camera flash. Nobody else went. FML

Today, I spent five minutes waiting by a stop sign. The two cars in front of me were taking a long time to move, so I began beeping and getting angry. Turns out, these cars were parked and I was holding up a line of traffic. FML

Today, I was in a hurry to get to work. I pulled impatiently behind a long line of cars to make a right hand turn. I sat there for 5 minutes. Turns out there wasn't a line to make a right hand turn. I had been waiting behind a line of parked cars. FML

Today, I was sitting at a traffic light when a cute girl appeared at the side of the road. I sat and watched her until she had crossed, when I realised that I had missed the light. A large queue of cars had built up behind me, yet none of them used their horn because I was driving my police car. FML

Today, I pulled up to the stoplight near my house. It was dark with no traffic and the car behind me kept edging closer and closer to me. I finally got fed up with waiting and the car and ran it. In fact, it was a cop and he was trying to read my license plate because the back light was out. FML

Today, a stoplight turned yellow as I was approaching it. I was about to go through but saw a cop, panicked, and slammed on the brakes. I ended up in the middle of the intersection and had to reverse. Soon the light turned green, and I stepped on the gas. My car was still in reverse. FML

Today, I stopped at a red light, when I noticed the car in front of me was in reverse. I honked at the driver, hoping he'd realize and place the car in drive. He thought the light turned green and immediately backed into me. FML

Today, I was waiting in line for breakfast at the McDonald's drive-thru. After getting so fed up that the line hadn't budged for 10 mins, I pulled out of the line, only to realize I was waiting behind 2 parked cars that were just to the left of the drive-thru lane. FML

Today, I was stuck in the drive-thru line from hell. The guy in front of me started freaking out and demanded that I back out so he could pull out. I tried to tell him there were cars behind me, but that didn’t stop him from getting out of his car and kicking out my headlights. FML

Today, I pulled up to an intersection behind a car waiting to turn left and we missed a whole set of lights. As I was getting frustrated that they weren’t going when the light was green, I realised I was waiting behind a parked car. FML

this is why red light cameras are bad. they don't take into account stuff like this, like when the light is broken (always red, where you treat it as a 4 way stop), it would just start taking pictures of everything or when you have to move into the intersection to let an emergency vechile pass you, your still in the interesection when the light is red = ticket and then they wait like 3-4 months after the incendent before they finally send you the ticket so you have no recollecction of what actually happened that day, nor any way to prove it.

If it wasn't changing, the better idea would have been to have got out and hit one of the crosswalk buttons for the light to change, not running a red light.

Red means stop. To the people saying "broken means 4-way stop," that only works if all the lights are broken. I've been at a stoplight where only the one for me to go straight stayed red, and everything else went normally. After a couple minutes, I kept track of when the light should have been green, and went across, right as a cop went the other way. No problem at all. OP, if other cars were getting through the intersection, you should've waited until you definitely had a green that just wasn't showing up. Otherwise, 4-way. If there was no traffic... well damn, FYL.

I get honked all the time for doing what traffic signs direct me to do. Actually STOPPING at stop signs and waiting the alotted 3 seconds before going even if it's clear... going the speed limit etc etc. Just don't be a dumbass . YDI for being a dolt.
