Today, I was going shopping with a friend. I got up to get off the train and landed on my ass. Not only had I walked into the metal bar, I'd broken my $800 glasses, and the train doors had closed, with my friend on the other side of the doors. FML

i beg to differ. in the UK, designer frames are about £125, scratch free coating is free, and the anti-glare is an additional £30. you should've gone to specsavers.

what you are forgetting is that the english pound dominates the aussie dollar lol, so what costs in pounds there for glasses most likely adds up to $800AUD. and people, they are most likely NOT perscription glasses, but in fact designer sunnies, she just called them glasses. you know, D&G and chanel and maybelliene and whatever.

$800 for prescription glasses isn't uncommon with all the hidden costs often required (so all those YDIers fixating on the price need to get over it). But in all honesty you STILL deserved it for not paying attention to where you were going. Especially since I'm also willing to bet that your friend wasn't the only one unable to disembark due to your lack of attentiveness.

$800? Daaamn, unless they were made of solid gold with diamond lenses, those are really not worth the cost.
