Today, I was going to my prom. My mom knows I want to drink so to prevent me, she made sure I took my prescription medicine before I left. I guess her way of stopping me from drinking is killing myself If I do. FML

You are the epitome of stupid for underage drinking. I'm betting next you'll wind up drunk driving, having 3 kids to support and dropping out! Well, that's only happened to a couple people I know, so there might still be a chance for you. Go op's mom!

She's protecting you dumbass. Honesty, if you want to end up on 1000 Ways To Die, go for it, but in the meantime, don't criticize her for loving you.

Do you think teenagers automatically die after drinking alcohol?

Frankly, I don't care how much something hurts my mom if she's not being rational. If I'm gay and my mom is homophobic, too bad; I'm not changing my sexual orientation because of her. Similarly, if I'm responsible enough to drink alcohol and my mom has unjustified beliefs about the dangers of alcohol, too bad; I'm not bending to those unjustified beliefs.

your prom wouldn't have drinks would it? i mean if it's a school organized event the school would get in trouble YDI you're underage you shouldn't be drinking and what your mom did is right because it seems like she's tried everything else and you have to take your medicine anyway ydi so much

Today my mom stopped me from doing something highly illegal, FML! Honestly, OP, grow up - And I mean that in the best possible way because I know you're still 17-18 - Drinking in High School with your friends isn't cool at all. . Not even a little bit. Your parents are there to protect you until you're capable of making your own informed decisions. . .You don't have the capacity to make an informed decision about alcohol at your age. Granted, I'm a proponent of lowering the drinking age to 18 [If you can fight for your country, move out on your own and are considered a legal adult you should be able to partake] but right now you can't, so you shouldn't. Your parents ideas and beliefs aren't unfounded are hypocritical - They went to prom at some point, probably did drink a lot and get wasted [though, at their age the drinking age was 18] and they know what goes on, they're protecting you from something you just don't need to experience right now in your life. . .Prom is supposed to be memorable for reasons other than getting really drunk, getting laid and waking up trying to fill in the blanks.

Anyone who feels they need alcohol to have fun are stupid, insecure, and immature.
