Today, I was handling corrosive chemicals when I accidentally spilled a beaker of Hydrochloric Acid on myself. I had to strip naked and use the emergency shower with my boss and my hot coworker watching. The worst part was when I realized my coworker was laughing at the size of my penis. FML

Yeah, women just don't understand shrinkage.

You have a pretty valid complaint to make to HR. Of course, you then have to keep reliving the humiliation but that was pretty unprofessional on her part. (You may also have misinterpretted her laughter. Was it from nervousness? Some people do that. )

Perhaps she laughed at the uncomfortable situation.

Are u sure she wasn't just laughing in general? i'd love to see someone have to jump in one of those showers! Maybe tomorrow will be my lucky day!

what molarity were you using? and if you were using a molarity that high (ie, to actually burn through your clothes and require the use of a shower) WHY WEREN'T YOU WEARING A LAB COAT. and what in god's name were you doing spilling it on yourself?

Lulz, like a lab coat is going to provide magical protection against concentrated acid. Even if it was dilute, the standard procedure is that if you spill a large portion of it on yourself you have to shower off. Also, why do people bitch so much about the "first" posts? As if it's some grave offense, haha. Who gives a damn? You people must be the most caucasian web 2.0 users around, getting butthurt over everything.

So much for using the proper PPE DipShit. Where is your chemical apron. You deserve every bit of it. It's stupid ***** like you that make safety officers pissed off.

Oh I did that 2 years ago with 6M NaOH and I had to go under the shower and lets just say that no one ever tested the drain. I ended up flooding two floors. I was standing in above-the-ankle deep water in a hot pink bra in front of several professors - including the chairman. Then I was wheeled out in front of all my classmates on a stretcher. I feel your pain.

That musta been some pretty concentrated HCl...I mean, it's not that strong of an acid...

Despite the fact that basic chemistry classes list HCl as a strong acid, yeah, its NOT that strong an acid. /sarcasm
