For some reason I think this is really funny, maybe a bit awkward, but funny nonetheless. But at least he's trying, OP, he clearly wants to please you and is worried he isn't doing. So if he already is, then tell him so, if not, take it as an opportunity to teach him how to improve.

@ op what kind of insecure baby is your BF. A vibrator isn't a replacement for a guy, a vibrator can't mow the lawn. sexist comments aside I don't see how the ops bf was trying to please her, he seems to be a bit of a insecure and was covering that up with humor, just try to reassure him that he isn't being replaced, massage his ego a bit.
