Today, I was in the car for 8 hours driving home from North Carolina with my family. We brought my dog along and I was petting her for most of the ride. I thought she fell asleep, so I continued to play with her. She never woke up. I played with a dead dog for almost an hour and a half. FML

This is terribly sad, but at least the dog passed away peacefully whilst being showered with affection.

Hey, just think about it this way... it could have been worse... National Lampoons anybody?? remember Grandma died in the car and they strapped her to the roof?!!? I really hope you didnt end up strapping your poor dog to the roof!!!

You should be thankful that your dog died while it was happily being petted. So many animals don't have the luxury of such a lovely death. You deserve it for caring so much about petting a deceased dog. What are you, heartless?

Jennabean, I am so sorry. I love my dogs like they were family. You know honey, she died being petted by her favorite human. We should all be so lucky . Hugs.

I call BS. Your dog would have passed all bodily fluids and crap immediately if it had died in your car and you would have noticed THAT.

I've seen plenty of dead animals that haven't done that. It's true this sometimes happens when someone/thing dies, but not necessarily.

What if the dog had already passed everything earlier when being walked or something?

Okay this app is for caring. "Sorry your life is bad" " sorry but you deserve it" if you obviously don't care then get off this app

So sorry that happened to you. Hugs and peace.

I'm really sorry if your dog actually died, it's a tough thing to go through. But your story doesn't make any sense. You would have noticed her heartbeat stop and her bowels would have let loose as well if she really did die while you were petting her. Please tell the stories as they happen, because everyone is getting tired of seeing dishonest FML's on the site.

After reading this, I can't stop checking to see if my sixteen-year-old dog is still breathing. Awww, she's sleeping on my old baby blanket...
