I am on my iPhone right now. I am going to jailbreak it when I can, when it is available for the 3.0
If i had a tiny violin i would play it for you
Having worked for Apple in the past, I have two guesses at how this happened. One, their servers actually crashed (in which case, sorry, but you'll be covered and your phone will be working again soon.) Or two, you tried to unlock your iPhone and put it on a network other than AT&T, even though you signed an agreement not to. In which case, updating your software with Apple at any time will render your iPhone a brick, permanently, and you totally deserve it.
I have an IPhone. Personally, I hate this thing. These things glitch up way to much for me. I'm going for a blackberry next time. My sister has one of those. They are sooo much better!
This is not an FML in any way. YDI for not knowing how to Google DFU mode though.
"YDI for having an iPhone?" Everyone without an iPhone that complain about them are jealous. I just got my iPhone, and it's amazing. But if putting down a great product makes you feel better about your crap phone...
Mine crashed while updating as well, but reboot your iTunes, keep plugging that iPhone back in and it'll start... eventually. Let it sit for a few minutes inbetween each time you plug it in.
Steve Jobs just gave you the "pink sock" (Google it if you don't know)
That sucks unless you have jailbroken it as others have said. Mine updated just fine. Good luck!

put your iphone into DFU mode, then boot it with 1clickboot.
Aww... I'm sure they can do something about that though.
