Today, I was installing the official 3.0 firmware update for my iPhone. Apple's authentication servers crashed. I now own an iBrick. FML

#16- I have never been annoyed by mine. Perhaps you're doing it wrong?

Your phone is not bricked. As I am posting this from my jailbroken iPod, Im laughing at your lack of knowledge of the iPhone. The only to brick your iPhone is through a hardware revise. All you have to do is go into DFU Mode (google it) and restore. Your life is not ******...

Another reason why not to use overpriced Apple products. Apple fanboys, please check this video out, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv0PlL-jvuM

Otherwise really nice video but none of that stuff is true anymore. We might've had those problems 10-15 years ago, but I've been using Macs for 6 years now and never had any of those. I guess the only way Windows users can bash Macs is by posting shit about 10-15 year old products. Go have a look at Windows 98, 2000 or ME and then come back. Have you seen the bing btw? Awesome product. Have a look at these links. They totally know what they're doing at Microsoft. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3587/3594083995_abfe3554f3_o.jpg

Its not very bright to attack someones argument as outdated then paste links that are very outdated AND from a beta version. I'm not a pro PC guy, just saying, its good to not be a hypocrite http://news.cnet.com/8301-17939_109-10251432-2.html

Outdated? From the link you just gave me. "Bing isn't available to the public yet, but you won't have to wait long. Starting on June 1, some users will get Bing search results from Live Search. On June 3, we're told, Bing will be Microsoft's new default search. We got early access to the service. Here's how it looks." You know what day it is today? Right, its June 18th. Let's just make sure I'm right, Wikipedia: "Bing is a replacement for Live Search. It went fully online on June 3, 2009" And fast Bing test. Yes, all the bugs are still there and you get the same exact results. Why is it so hard Microsoft, why is it so hard? I guess Microsoft should start actually doing something original instead of trying to compete against companies such as Google and Apple. edit. Oh and, those pictures are from June 4th, very outdated indeed.

Apple, original ideas? Not any more original than Microsoft. Google has had some good ideas, however. Anyway, competition is good. It keeps the other companies trying to be better.

So if you're not an Apple fanboy, then you're a Microsoft fanboy? Do I have to be a fanboy of an overpriced company? I like Google because their stuff is free.

I didn't say Apples ideas are original, but they make their shit well. Microsoft fails at copying stuff. Want examples? How about Zune and Bing.

1) It is logically fallacious to use Bing as your only example as to why Microsoft isn't being innovative. 2) You seem to be attacking me as the obverse, a "Microsoft fanboy," which I am not, I use both Linux systems and Windows, with no particular love; but I strongly dislike Apple as an overpriced product with limited compatibility and preventing people of understanding the workings of computers. 3) "Microsoft should start actually doing something original instead of trying to compete against companies such as Google and Apple." Really? Microsoft takes up 94% of global market shares in OSs, the other 6% are divided between Linux and Mac; Mac is the one trying to compete, and with its inflated prices, is only slowly growing. 4) Just because Bing and Zune are less popular doesn't make them worse. Each has strong points compared to their competitors. Take ilovelife07's review for an example.

#142, I love you. (OP, YDI for going out of your way to have a pretentious phone)

1) Let's use Zune or IE then? How about IE getting all the goodies such as tabs way later than other browsers? And after I don't know how many years they still can't get the browser to render stuff right, and I think it's still full of security holes. 2) I never made any personal attacks towards you, calling you Microsoft fanboy or anything. If you have trouble reading (or understanding what you read), don't blame me. You posted a video about 10-15 year old OS and bugs that haven't existed for years. I'm not "in love" with OS X, I just don't like people who bash a product based on false information and without any experience using it. I was Windows user since I was 6, but after I got my first Mac I haven't really been missing Windows. But how is Apple's compatibility limited and why do they prevent people from understanding the workings of computers? And how are they overpriced? 3) With Microsoft vs Apple I meant Zune vs iPod. Check Zune's market shares, then check iPod's. Oh and; if Mac's market shares are growing, doesn't it mean that more and more people realize how bad Windows actually is and switch from Mac to Windows? I'd want to know the number of people who used to have Windows and are now using a Mac. And how many people have switched from Mac to Apple. Also, just because Windows has more users doesn't mean that it's better. Know the saying "No one ever got fired for choosing Microsoft"? People buy Windows because thats what everyone is using. I wonder if one can find data about the operating system used by the more "professional" computer users, such as photographers, movie makers, developers and so on. 4) So if Bing's UI is horrible and illogical and the search results don't match what you search for (at all), its not worse? I wonder when Windows actually starts using money to get the users better experience. Looking at the Office 2010 alpha, at least they didn't bother to hire UI designer for it. I hope they do it before they release it for beta. Oh well, who cares about the UI, right? http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/04/27/office-2010-screenshots-emerge http://purnomo.name/screenshots-from-office-2010/

That happened to me yesterday. I was pissed!!! I knew Apple's servers were most likely overloaded so I just went back a couple of hours later and finished the authentication process. For those 2 hours though, I felt helpless!!! lol

If it matters, I installed it for my touch, works just fine.
