Today, I was nude modeling for the first time for a life art class. The only criteria for the class was that I not move at all while being observed. After a few seconds I noticed a really hot girl drawing me. I got a hard on. FML

Did you see anyone breathe a sigh of frustration, erase furiously and start that section over?

#176 and 177--I do hear you. However, my main question, which i guess got lost in my lomg winded passage-is, "how do women art students react seeing a nude guy?" Basically, do they check out the penis? (size, shape, etc)? Do they discuss that among themselves? And this one has been the subject of debate between me & friends..Since i often model for college freshmen (18-19 yrs old) are they many, (if any) who may be seeing their first live naked guy and hence, their first penis! I say, there are more than a few who may have never seen a naked adult male & his penis! My friends (both male & female) say this is rare today! One girl did say, she agrees with me & that more girls than you would think, have never seen a penis (& nude guy) before! That is the one area I'd like to get some feedback, esp. from women. Sooo, there are TWO main questions i put to the women artists (or non artists) 1) You feel there are many girls who have not seen a naked male, by age 18? 2) Do ANY women, get turned on, by a nice shaped & size penis. btw--I'm totally shaved in my pubic area! I feel cleaner & I feel it's more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I do NOT get 'hard' often, simply 'cause it's not really 'professional'. I use all kinds of 'mental excercises' to keep my mind off of anything sexual....(difficult while being nude in front ot 20-25 young ladies 18-21). I meditate, think of some chess openings, what i'm having for dinner, etc- If i did not, & just looked at some of these young ladies as they draw me with such "rapt attention", i'd be erect more often. Once it starts, tho, it's very difficult to put the penis erection, in reverse! Right guys? Thanks-hoping i made myself clearer-this time- Steve

Heysteve- I took art classes all through high school, but seeing as my mom put me through a very conservative baptist school, I was caught off guard in my first college drawing class with nude models. No, it wasn't my first time seeing a nude guy, but it caught me off guard when it was a requirement to observe and draw. It was awkward as he was facing me and watching me draw for the first hour long session and I felt like I should have been looking away, giving him his privacy. And yes, when he was not around, we did tend to talk about him, but not particularly about his size or anything like that. Rather, it was about how it was uncomfortable having him watch us draw him. Of course, our model was rather overweight(not trying to be rude) so he wasn't the most pleasant person to look at anyway. Plus, many of the girls(myself included) are in relationships and didn't want to participate. So maybe it's different with other classes, but in mine, no one was concerned with his package.

Thanks dino-rawr- Interesting insight. I want to make one thing clear, i do not get erections while modelling nude, but, it does take a lot of 'self control' to keep it in check. Sometimes , even a certain eye to eye glance from a cute female can be a 'turn on'. Quick question, (for women), in a collge freshman class of young ladies (18-19 yrs old) about what percentage have never seen a nude male? I'd think about 35-35%. Is that too high? Or too low? Just curious. And, I still maintain, there is that very rare girl in class, ONCE i've already had an erection, who does her best to try & get a rise outta me again with subtle smiles, lip licking or if sitting in the front, uncrossing legs. Trust me, though they are very rare, these "teasers" do exist! Any male models ever come across them in class? Thanks for any feedeback. btw--I'm shaved totally clean? Do the students ever mention that? Aside from feeling cleaner & more comfortable for the artists, it gives them a "better view" of the guy's package.

I just hope you started smiling. But, like, REAL slowly. A grin slowly spreading across your face. That's when you wink. ;)

One question, why would degrade yourself and get naked so someone could draw you?

Heysteve 0

Some guys really find it "hot" degrading themselves in front of females! Do you consider posing nude...in front of a class of all females.."degrading"? I'd like to hear a woman's view on this. Do any woman look at a nude guy in front of an "all female" class degrading in any way? Curious-

How is exposing yourself to someone degrading? Shouldn't we have pride in our bodies? ^^ (Plus, the models at my university make $12 an hour, which is one hell of an incentive to get nude.)

Hey #182- Could you expand on the question ? By that i mean, HOW am i .."degrading" myself by modelling nude in front of female art students? I mean, I'm modelling & helping to contribute to their art education! By me standing nude if front of these young ladies I feel I am doing them a service. Are you a man or woman? Curious if the perspective if different- Hope I get a response esp from art students (females perspective on nude male models! Do you girls ever feel or think we guys are .."degrading" ourselves? 1) Who feels I AM .."degrading" myself? (IF so, why?) 2) Who feels i am NOT "degrading" myself? (If not, why not?) Thanks-

Heysteve- I'm a woman taking life drawing classes at my university, and I don't see that it's degrading in any way. The ration of male models to female is here is around 2 to 5. I'm very impressed by the bravery of those who do choose to model! An erection is of course a hazard, but it's a natural function of the male human body (obviously comes with the territory). Usually the models will stare at a point on a far wall or the floor, and RARELY look at the students drawing them. I think this is a very good deterrence to arousal, as well as concentrating on something completely unrelated to the class (i.e. your physics homework). Normally I find it in bad taste to discuss the models, because everyone's body is different. There are indeed some women who had never seen a naked male until their life drawing class, but I wouldn't know as to whether they were excited or reviled by it or not. I would hope that at college age they're mature enough to handle it, though. I personally find the variance in bodies fascinating. It can honestly occasionally be distracting, and these thoughts are also natural, but the point of being there is to draw and that's what the student has to concentrate on. ^^

I attended an art school and as a female I do not feel you are degrading yourself. I feel that some people are just prude. Thanks for contributing to the art community!
