Today, I was on a date with a great guy, and we were really hitting it off. While we were walking in the park, a woman who smelled like the devil's toenails and looked as if she hadn't bathed in a year passed us. I whispered to my date, "Look at that disgusting woman." It was his mother. FML

Yeah, you shouldn't have said that in the first place anyways. Even if it wasn't his mother. Remember that hobo story?

I'm wondering why they didn't greet each other

Well indeed, I believe there is a lesson to be learned here. You never know who someone knows, and until you know, keep your negative thoughts to yourself!!

It's a small state, Op. you really took a chance, it could have been any one of his relatives!

Take comfort in the fact that you will probably never have to deal with her again, since your date (hopefully) realized overly judgemental girls aren't worth his time.

Alright alright everyone! We have seen that the majority of you think she's bring rude and judgmental. Now all of you jump off the pedestals you think you're on and stop acting like you have never in your life said anything mean about someone. Come on now, really.

That is a good point, however I think we are expressing our disdain for her being judgemental because she voiced her negative opinion so openly (and so crudely) to someone we assume she doesn't know very well. Negative thoughts go through everyone's minds from time to time, but they don't always need to be expressed verbally.

I agree with 54. We all may think mean things about strangers from time to time, but most people are socially aware enough to know that it's rude to say them out loud.

Wow, there is no way you don't deserve this. Who gave you the right to point out random people on the streets and talk badly about them? YDI, definitely.

Yeah, even I sometimes say something like that, but on a first date..? My boyfriend would have never gone to a second date with me, if I had done so.Even, if she was a complete stranger. I know, that we all say these thing and we all are judgmental, but with someone you don't know that well, to say rude things... not so good idea. YDI.

So she "passed" you two and they didn't say a word to each other?... This sounds quite a bit unbelievable...

It's not entirely your fault, you didn't know that was his mother. And why would she not say anything when she walks pass?

Maybe she didn't want to disrupt, or just didn't see them.

When will people learn that insulting others will never make you look better or more impressive. It just makes you look like a rude, petty busybody.

I hope he dumped your ass for judging people like that.
