to be clear, i am female. i've never actually had to pay for a date, but i've ALWAYS made sure i could if i needed to. you must be ugly, badly dressed, extremely tall, boring, a bitch, stupid, stuck-up, stinky, or any combination of those things. i'm not being mean, the truth just hurts.

This is nowhere near a FYL. The FYL would be about how you even expect him to pay and not have a backup. We're not in the Victorian eras anymore, why would you automatically assume the guy would pay? It'll make sense if you don't have money and he does and he knows it. But otherwise, don't expect it. He probably might not have paid for you because he saw you as a smart, independent, strong woman who can take care of herself and doesn't need a man to pay everything for her. Ever though of that as a possibility? My friend went out with her boyfriend and a friend for dinner. The bf just paid for himself. Later on the friend said, "Oh my god, how could he not pay for us? He's such a loser! I can't believe this!" And my friend replied, "Well we're not in egypt anymore. And yes, over there guys pay for dates...but they also think you're a ***** if you let them kiss them and they expect to have all the power and control over your life as a woman."

To anyone that said a $6 dollar salad was expensive... Where can you buy a salad for less then $6 (obviously counting out fast food)? Especially considering it was probably a dinner salad and not a side salad. I think that an Applebee's even charges more then $6 for a salad now.

Okay the way i read this is that she had to go find an ATM for $6 cash when he couldve paid and she couldve paid him back thats the FML not because he wouldnt pay for her dinner in general. Fair enough if he didnt have the six bucks but if he did his a lazy s***. (grammar nazis dont say crap about my grammar i couldnt be bothered its on the internet not an essay get over it.)
