Oh God, can people PLEASE stop saying 'this isn't an FML?' It's on the website, therefore it's an FML. It's a mildly unfortunate, embarrassing situation which the author chose to share with us for our amusement. What would constitute an FML in your books? How depressing would this site be if it was full of anecdotes about GENUINELY ****** lives - I don't know, suicide attempts and fatal illnesses and so forth? I understand there are many FMLs on here concerning very serious situations, but they're written with a humorous/poignant angle. Come on, I don't think the author actually thinks his life is ****** because of a verbal slip-up.

#93, I do that all the time as well. I'm also bad about saying it in response to people wishing me happy birthday. On a slight variation, I work at a motel and I'm used to people saying "Thanks" when I give them their key, so much so that I've been known to say "You're welcome" even when they don't say "Thanks".

i accidentally do the "you too" thing when it isn't necessary on an almost daily basis. i also do the: me: "hey how are you?" other person: "i'm good how are you?" me: "pretty good, you?"

Don't worry. I did this once but it was my birthday. Person: Happy Birthday. Me: You too. It just happens.

People do that where I work too. I work at a movie theater, and I'll say "enjoy the show" and they'll reply "you too"
