Wow a dogs getting put down because you were being a little bitch about a breakup

As an rvt I can tell you this is utter bullshit!!!! You could have had the dog quarantined for 10 days.

If you tease a dog enough for it to bite then YDI, If you have a aggressive dog that will bite like that then tease it to the point of which it attacks then YDI. Surely if you own a dog you would notice when it's about to go over the edge and attack?

Can anyone explain to me why the dog has to be put down??? That's only if it bites someone else, and they request it.

I don't know the laws where OP is from, but if the dog had no record of a Rabies vaccine and the bite was deep, the law MAY require the euthanization of the dog so that the head can be sent to be tested. The only was to test for Rabies is to examine the brain of the animal when it is deceased. As someone else mentioned, in the U.S. the dog would typically be put in quarantine for a period of time, however, unless the owner pays for the stay in the quarantine facility there is no government/state obligation to keep the pet at no charge. If the owner chose to relinquish the dog to the county or a shelter, the shelter would most likely euthanize the pet immediately to avoid the risk of an outbreak. Not that any of this validates what the OP has done....

WHAT!? The dog was being encouraged and I'm sure it was an accident. If it was playing than biting you wasn't a sign of aggression. The dog shouldn't be punished and put down for it. Take responsibility for your actions, fess up that it was your fault and let the dog be!
