Today, I was roused from my peaceful slumber by the sound of evil laughter coming from my closet. It was my old Furby, with dead batteries, that I could have sworn I got rid of several years ago. FML

When I was 5 or so, I had a similar experience. I had several furbies sitting on my shelf opposite my bed. They all turned on at once and scared the shit out of me. We got rid of them after that, and I'm still creeped out by them about 15 years later. I feel your pain my friend
