Lol just watched some Dave Chapelle - the one stand up about how women dress. How fitting. a) if you think she was sitting there trying to be as unattractive as possible, then you are obviously naive. She probably had some nice clothes on, that fit her well, but I mean if you're gonna dress the part you had better be prepared to play it. Not saying she was dressed like a prostitute, but I'm just saying. b) if you think this girl in no way deserved the second part, about the old man, you are both blind and retarded. She pretty much walked out and said "I am a prostitute." Which would make the old man's actions not so out of the ordinary. So, overall, this is a definite YDI.
@189: I was with you until you said "I'm just saying." You're just saying what? Either you said something or you didn't. Which is it? Don't be a freakin' wuss. If you have something to say, then say it and stand by it. If you can't stand by your opinion, then stfu and go back to Dave Chapelle.
Thuryn, (187, etc), obviously there are consequences to every action. However, some of those consequences are the result of a sexist/racist/homophobic/etc society. If I drive recklessly and get into an accident, of course that's my fault and I should own up to it. But when I walk in the business district of NYC and get cat called while wearing professional attire (as well as almost everywhere else), yea I expect it to happen but that doesn't make it right. Water may be wet alright, and sure we can bring umbrellas to stay dry when it rains even though you're still going to feel damp and crappy by the time you get home. But we can also build dams and redirect large flows of water instead of letting it flood our cities. No one said social change was easy or a one person job, but hey, without it we'd still be in a world where only white male property owners had any say.
@191: That's fine, so long as people also realize that society is already changing at an incredible pace. We have had many of these prejudices and practices for many thousands of years. Women didn't get the right to vote until Mohammad (in the Middle East) and not until Susan B. Anthony in the U.S. And yet there have been human civilizations for a long, long, long time. So on the one hand, I have uppity women saying men are pigs and all men suck and all this crap, when in fact, those same women live better, easier lives than any women in history, EVER. And, of course, on the other hand we have all the pricks who responded to this FML saying "YOU DRESS LIKE A ****," despite the fact that we have no proof of that. Personally, I think it's all crap. The idiot who pulled up and propositioned the OP was *probably* quoting Borat. But the OP didn't get it. I don't blame her. I haven't seen it either and wouldn't have gotten the joke. So she smarted off to him, which was a bit catty. Now enter the older man who very well might think she's a ***** at this point... going downhill fast, here. So I declare that none of the people here are innocent. I feel a little bad for the OP, but not *that* bad unless she lives someplace where this happens to her every day. I also feel a little bad for the old man, although he *was* trying to pick up a trick, which has never been a practice that sat right with me. As for the prick in the car (assumption) who started all this, jerk COULD have manned up and apologized and offered her a ride. Though maybe he did? We'll probably never know, unless the OP responds with some details. I like that Ulrich quote, by the way. I've thoroughly stolen it and use it myself, even though I'm not a woman. It's a good reminder that "good behavior" is defined by rules. But rules are there to *serve* people, not the other way around. When the rules no longer serve us, it's time to break the rules.
walking home in the rain is nothing. i would definitely prefer it over public transportation.
wow, thats so creepy but u shouldn't have walked home u should have kicked both their asses right there or go to another seat

FYL because the original guy that you were a prostitute. YDI from the old man because of your response.
You actually admitted in public that you are buyable? Well, what was wrong then with the old guy? You didn't even hear his offer.
