Today, I was snooping around in my parents' closet to see what I would get for Christmas, when I came across a UPS package. It was the video game I ordered off eBay 3 weeks ago, addressed to me. They told me it had never arrived and said I should ask Santa to bring it to me. FML

Take it and pretend they did nothing, then complain that they didn't get you anything for Christmas

On one hand, I want to say YDI for snooping around because it's rude to go through someone else's private things. On the other hand, your parents are cheapskates and liars. If you paid for the package yourself then take it out and tell them, "Hey, it arrived after all!"

Though I find that you definitely shouldn't have been snooping around, I still feel that you should confront them. Maybe they'll have a good reason, or maybe they'll apologise for it. Never the less, try to not mention why you were snooping if you do - just say you stumbled upon it and want an explanation. They really shouldn't have stolen your package and lied to you like that.

Your parents are hilariously horrible...

That's why they have tracking numbers... Had you checked, you'd have known the minute it arrived at your door

Also not all postage (in all countries) automatically have tracking numbers.

Sounds like your folks are just as sneaky as you are!

I had to vote both. On one hand, F Your Life for having parents that take your stuff that you ordered. Buy YDI for not watching that package more carefully. That's why they make tracking numbers! Also, YDI for snooping.

Like you never snooped when you were a kid. >.> I personally hired snoopy to do my snooping. :D

I never snooped as a kid, and not that I don't think it's bad that the parents stole, he should have dropped hints (being this close to Christmas) and I'm sure they would have bought it, and it would have been help, considering kids can be hard to buy for. But it was bad of the parents for steeling and lying!

Is it just me or if you pretended it just arrived to the house they'll go through their stash, realize its gone and have some sort of douchey fit about it? Just me? Ahh paranoia, once again, you didn't think that through properly, that's silly.. O_o?

To have a fit, they'll have to admit taking it.

Just take it and tell your parents you found it and you must have taken it to your room when it got delivered and forgot or something

Wow u should go up to their faces and ask "what is this?"

Go to the UPS website and check the tracking number and see when it was delivered and some cases you can see who signed for it. Print it out and show your parents.

Unfortunately, that might not work. UPS doesn't always require a signature.
