Today, I was telling my sister about how I am horribly depressed and how I can't function and she responded with, "Oh, shit! I've got to go Jeopardy is on!" FML
I agree, your life sucks 55 670
You deserved it 5 975

Same thing different taste

I like how some people here says they rather watch tv rather then listen to people bitch about their lives, but they visit fmylife.com everyday to read about people's fml stories, which is also people bitching about their lives.

If your depression is that bad, you need to see a doctor and get medication and try to help yourself--otherwise people will think you're emo and just looking for attention.

Regardless if the OP is lying about the FML, or you think depression is for lonely people that want attention, it's still a problem. If someone is depressed and is telling you, no matter how annoying you think that person is, or how wimpy you think that makes them for not being able to cope...you should listen and encourage them to get the help they are asking for. Because most suffering from depression do not speak up in time. And even if they are doing it for attention, it can lead to other dangerous actions for attention and it may not be depression but still a serious problem. So instead of telling people who are trying to ask for help, that they're pansies, wimps, etc. help.

That red head on Jeopardy last night was pretty hot. And oh yeah, stop talking to people who don't want to listen to you. It just makes you more depressed.

I do love jeopardy but that sucks, my sister would never do that, she should've recorded it, but you could've watched it with her to get your mind off things. Oh yeah and I also have depression, so I know how hard it is to cope, but you have to.

Grrr. Angry people on FMyLife who care so much about informing people that they dont care.

#49 Of course everybody and their mom knows that you're bullshitting. I've yet to see a study which hasn't concluded that people who end up attempting suicide often talk about it first. Nobody basically wants to die, they just don't want to continue living with their depression, so they kill themselves because it's unbearable. Many people attempt suicide but end up surviving because they didn't really want to die. Many people who attempt suicide, attempt it more than once. And many people who succeed in their suicide attemps have tried it before but failed. Yes, those who claim they are suicidal are looking for attention, that's precisely it. They should be given the attention, so that they understand people actually care. Then they might get help and might actually have some motivation to get better. Of course there are those too who don't talk about suicide and whose depression is not noticeable at all on the outside. The risk in ignoring one who is making a noise is that they will stop talking about it, and then no one will know, and they cannot be stopped from doing it. It is beyond me why do people talk about things they don't have a clue about. I don't go telling a physicist how the quantum mechanics work, so why do you try to tell how depression and suicidal people work?

Maybe she was uncomfortable with the conversation and was trying to make her escape. She might not have known what to say

I'll take antidepressants for $300, Alex.

#52 said what I was thinking. Perhaps you should get professional help instead of trying to load all your problems on your sister.
