Today, I was texting this guy i've liked for a really long time, because of how nice and sentimental he is. We were sending each other things like "You make me smile" and "You're so damn cute" when finally he said "Let's just stop texting and hook up already." So much for sentimental. FML

Sick of these pussy so-called FMLs being posted. Lose the sensitivity and naivety, OP, and harden the **** up.

sexmental? I like it. did you come up with that off the top of your head? holy shit Ima have fun with that word

who cares? he's sentimental enough to say those things in the first place.. he was probably just trying to be funny too. you got him, right? this is hardly a FML...

it's what I would say too. anything wrong with bein straight forward?

Like it's already been said: Hooking up doesn't necessarily mean having sex. I can understand why people assume it's sex, but.. Why DO they assume it's sex?

Because its early meaning was "to have sex"/"engage in sexual behavior". We still use it that way: "Jeannie and I totally hooked up at that party". It has currently degenerated into meaning anything between conversation and sex, but the early connotation still sticks around as a primary definition.

Because the OP submitted the FML into the "Intimacy" category.

I'm failing to see the problem... the guy you've liked for a while wants to hook up. whats the issue???
