Today, I was walking down the street and spotted a man who was about 6 and a half feet tall passing by me. As he passed me, I turned and asked him "How's the weather up there?" He then turned around, spat on me, and replied "Raining." FML

YDI. Why do you throw rude comments at random people on the street? God. I must admit, he made the perfect reply.

the way I see it the tall guy was really out of line. spitting on someone is assault with a bodily fluid. OP made a corny joke, the most they deserved was a dirty look or verbal comeback. FYL, OP

Shut the **** up... Assault with bodily fluid... You sound as stupid as the OP

I read this joke in Dear Abby 20 years ago.

YDI x 1,000,000. I'm almost 14 and I'm 5'10". I hate it when people comment on my height. I just want to be normal, isn't that too much to ask!? Doesn't really help when there are douchebags like you.

I'm guessing you're a basketball player.

how can u b 14ish? anyway I'm 14 and 5'8 I must b short:(

64- I played basketball for like 4 years and I didn't like it 79- I'm magical :P

Err, what a lot of people don't seem to realize is there's a heck of a lot more to basketball than being tall. Like actually having hand-eye co-ordination (xD), being athletic, and actually LIKING the sport. Just sayin'. I try to explain this to people and they just stare at me with a dumb look on their face then repeat the question. *sigh*

Agreed 118. I'm six foot and I hate that damn basketball comment/question. Being tall can be a plus for you in certain sports, but it isn't the reason you should play a sport.

I was 6'3" when I was 14. Would have been cool if I were a guy.

I don't see how it can be a ydi. if anything op gabr the guy a compliment. no one getsmsde of for being tall. only short ppl get made fun of for their height (I know cuz i'm short). that guy was just some dick head that needs to get laid.

I'm sorry but you're mistaken here, there are plenty of people who are made fun of for being tall. Especially younger children who are the tallest in their class. My boyfriend is 3/4 Phillipino and 1/4 Irish, he is about 6'4" which is very tall for someone of Asian background, especially Phillipino descent, and he was made fun of as a child and even now at 23.

Wrong, 50. Anyone outside the norm will likely be insulted for it, whether he's unusually tall, short, thin, fat, light, dark, ugly or attractive. It's especially lame because all of those descriptors are entirely relative.

You don't have any idea what you're talking about. I've been struggling for years with depression and poor self-esteem caused by relentless teasing my entire life about being so tall. Try being 5 feet tall... in third grade. Or 6 feet tall before you hit puberty. Or realizing you're the tallest PERSON attending high school, and you're a girl. Or shopping for pants with a 40" inseam. Or realizing in seventh grade that you've outgrown the mens' shoe section, much less the womens'. Go **** yourself.

You should have spit back and said, whoops, I guess the dam burst!

I have a hard time saying anyone deserves to be spit on, but honestly, making fun of someone you don't know for being tall? I'm a woman and I'm 5'11, and I get plenty of strangers making comments about it, which I will never understand. I'm tall-wohoo! I can't do anything about my height. Would you go up to a little person and ask them how the weather down there is? I think not. Tall people and short people deserve the same respect, in fact, everyone you meet deserves the same respect (unless they've done something to you directly, but that's obviously not the case here) That being said, I have a close friend who is only 4'11, and we make jokes like "how's the weather" with each other all the time- the difference being that we're friends, and we both know the other is only joking about the foot Difference in our heights. I wouldn't make fun of anyone I met on the street.

are you a woman? 5'11 isn't that tall unless you're a woman

Yes, she already said she is a woman.

I need to actually read things *facepalm*

Move to Europe, being 5'11 as a woman is perfectly normal over here.

I'm 15, a girl and 5ft 11 and that is considered tall for a woman in Europe.

Then I'm moving to Europe. People make a huge deal about girls being 5'8 over here saying how tall they are. 6'3 is not my ideal height. Dx

6 foot 3 is an awesome height! I'm 6'9" and I get the dumb questions every day. I now resort to saying I am 4'33" and that usually shuts them up well. People that are dimwitted enough to just come at me like that usually do not do well at math :-) It is a huge difference though if a really small person or another tall person starts a conversation like that. They understand typically what it feels like to be stared at and talked about constantly.

5'11" isn't that tall for a woman unless you're 11 years old. Yes, I would know. I would kill to be that short again... I could even deal with six feet even.

Normal-height people are oblivious about height. The song "Short People" could only have been written by someone of average height, which it was.

If someone asked me I would've said "cloudy with a chance of getting punched in the face"
