Today, I was walking to a job interview. I needed to get rid of some gum but there were no trash cans in sight, so I spat it out on the ground. Next thing I know, some guy grabs me, sticks the gum in my hair, and walks off, muttering curses. I couldn't get it out in time for the interview. FML

Today, I noticed a cute girl in the checkout lane at the store. Feeling a little flirtatious, I decided to blow a bubble with my gum to get her attention. I accidentally shot the gum out of my mouth onto the guy next to me, spitting all over myself in the process. FML

Today, in an effort to avoid my school's strict no-gum policy as my teacher made a b-line to me, I swallowed it. By the time the teacher reached me, the gum was on my desk, as well as my breakfast, thanks to my overactive gag reflex. FML

Today, I rushed to a job interview, but my cat rubbed against me, covering my suit in fur. I grabbed a lint roller, tripped over the cat, and knocked out a front tooth. I showed up sweaty, disheveled, and missing a tooth. I didn’t get the job. FML

Today, was my first day of work in my life. I was excited, and so was my dad, who saw me to the door and ruffled my hair as he wished me luck. I didn't notice until half an hour after arriving at work that he'd stuck his gum in my hair. Nobody bothered to tell me. FML

You guys are heartless. So OP deserves to have her interview and hair ruined simply for spitting out gum on the sidewalk??? I get it, littering isn't good and someone could've stepped in it, but if you honestly think that the asshole who shoved it in her hair was some sort of karmic hero, then you guys are too uptight. I would love to hear every last person who said that she deserved it claim that they've never in their life littered in some way, shape, or form XD

I don't think OP deserved to get it in her hair or get manhandled, but I don't think it was right for her to have thrown it on the ground either. I think the people saying YDI aren't saying that she deserved what happened to her necessarily, but that she deserved something and don't think that throwing it on the ground was ok.

I don't really think I deserve to step in someone else's gum either. If she doesn't care about it being on someone's shoe (or even foot!) then why should anyone care if it's in her hair?

Do you guys not realize how rough gum is on hair? Yes I think it was gross of OP to not simply swallow the gum instead of spitting it out, but making things physical isn't a positive solution. God I feel like people on this app think violence can resolve anything. Everybody here has littered in some way and please, I'm pretty sure most I your guys aren't saints so c'mon. It's way easier to get gum off of a shoe than hair.
