Why do people make comments that say first and nothing else?... If you are going to call first at least make a comment relative to the FML... And to follow my own advice...I agree with people saying that you were wrong to talk to your "mom" like that. I'm not going to lay judgment on how you were raised or anything but that's not cool...
BAWWWWWW HEZ SO0O0 DISRZPKTFUL!!!11!1!!!11! Seriously... who cares? Who is to say that there are times where HIS mom says stuff like that to HIM/HER on certain accounts? S/he is obviously (I hope) kidding when s/he yelled that at his/her mother. It's good that a mother and a child can joke around like that. It doesn't have to be serious and military-like whenever you live there, or else that would make the child hate the thought of living in the house. Don't get me wrong, I was taught to have respect for my elders and I do, and if the OP was actually being disrespectful and always is, then someone needs to put the OP in his/her place. If the mother and the OP both joke around with stuff like that, then what's the big deal? His mother has probably criticized him on how he's done in a sport or a project or something at home before the real deal as a joke. Kids should be able to joke with their parents, not fear them. When kids are suppressed because their house is a prison, that's when kids start to rebel. The OP is probably a teenager in high school, and it was the weekend considering a FIVE YEAR OLD is playing the piano (kudos #21). I'm not defending rude people by any means, but this is probably taken out of context, seeing as no parent in their right mind would allow their child to honestly, 100% seriously and disrespectfully talk to them that way. Lighten up. Jokes and having fun make life worth while. You can't be serious every minute of everyday.
Wow, how would you like it if the roles were reversed? Anyways, what happened to showing family members (and anybody else, for that matter) some respect?
#38, you said "but this is probably taken out of context, seeing as no parent in their right mind would allow their child to honestly, 100% seriously and disrespectfully talk to them that way." Apparently you haven't seen many families outside your own. It's pretty awful, but there are a lot of teenagers who do speak to their parents in such a rude manner on a regular basis. It isn't a joke with them, either. They genuinely show hatred towards their parents, and talk about them like that, too. I fully believe the OP was being very rude and deserved it. Poor little girl.

And why weren't you down there to enjoy this lovely recital?
Ok here's what you do: fall down the stairs, and pretend like you just woke up from a dream. Then comment on how bad the (insert random sport's team) was playing in your dream, while looking surprised at why everyone is staring at you.
