bet you couldn't stand that.
He really took that one sitting down.
At least no one can accuse you of treating him different because he is in a wheelchair
this reminds me of a guy I act or otherwise work as a stage hand with frequently, who's wheelchair bound. in our last musical, we had some really rigorous dance routines. for us on legs, it was insane; he gave our dance instructor a hard time any time she made a mention of using legs. total joker, loved him to death. these kinds of people are always great to interact with, imo.
I love those experiences. I love it when people who have a physical disability can find humor and fun in what they live with. It proves that despite how hard it can make things for them, they haven't given up on being able to live fully and be happy.
one time at work I came up to a guy and said hi sir can I give you hand finding anything? I say it all the time. dude turns around. he's only got one hand. happens to the best of us op
Hey the guy has a sense of humour, all the more for him right? You too, at least he didn't get offended and try to make your life harder while he was there.
He sounds like an asshole
was he cool about it while he mocked you? or just an ass mocking you?
That reminds me of a blind girl I know. She usually has to be guided everywhere. One time she accidentally bumped into a chair, and without thinking, the person guiding her told her to "Watch where she was going" And then another time the blind girl accidentally bumped into a trash can and said "I should've seen that coming." At least he had a sense of humor about, he didn't sound too upset, right? (:

Your patient has a good sense of humour.
So you told somebody to sit tight who was sitting in a chair with wheels on either side that he could use to move around? That… actually sounds more appropriate than telling somebody in a standard chair to sit tight. It's not exactly like they're going to hold onto the bottom of the chair and hop around in it.
