Today, I was written up at work and sent home 20 minutes into my shift. My boss thought I was under the influence of something, but it’s really just the first time I’ve come to work with no makeup on. FML

People are generally very pale without their make-up. Should have been honest and fought for your case. If your boss is that worried, they should consent to a drug test.

Apparently beauty is on the outside.

Depends on where they are in the US, most states are right to work. Outside of the US depends, but most jobs will send you home if they suspect if you are under the influence not all will drug test and some will fire you outright.

You were under the influence ... of dummies who say you look just as good without makeup. If your boss has only seen you with makeup, you probably look pretty scary without it. Why would women spend so much time, effort and money on the stuff if it didn’t make a difference?

How much do you normally wear to make him think that when you do not have any on?

Except it's not. It may be extreme, I could see being sent home cause she seemed sick, not necessarily under the influence. But makeup isn't solely a womans thing, and daily grooming habits aren't solely for women either.

If you're wearing so much makeup that you're almost unrecognizable without it then you're wearing way too much.
