Today, I went back to school after missing the first 2 weeks of the new school year. I got grilled in my first lesson by my teacher for "gallivanting around on holiday in some sunny place" when I should've been at school learning. My dad had died from liver cancer. FML

well tell that bitch why you missed the first 2 weeks! :/

This is probably one of those very rare instances where you could cuss out your teacher big time and get away with it... after you have explained to the head teacher that you father just died of course.

man tht sucks sorry for your loss should have cryer and screamed at her. btw I accidently clicked ydi on my iPod ( easily done) I then voted fyl but yh just keep this in mind sorry again

Im so sorry for your loss. I realy do hope you told the teacher right away. Maybe cryed a bit and ran of. but somehow you just always get stomped in that kind of situation. I know, my dad died a year ago.

Sorry man, but i hope you told your teacher that in front of everyone so he realises what a prik he is.

for all the people claiming that two weeks was to much time you obviously have no idea what it feels like to lose a PARENT or like the ability to sympathize with someone elses situation and realize that everyone deals with grief and pain differently . so sorry for your loss

this is why people shouldnt judge others, and be bitter. OP, my prays go out to you.

That's hard for you. I understand if you didn't just yelled it right in front of the class to make her look stupid, it's a really sad experience who some just don't like to share when it happened just a while ago. If you informed your school of what happened (which you probably did) they would have let the teachers know somehow but even then she could've not noticed it. It's wrong to just assume everyone goes on a vacation when school is about to start soon, which wouldn't be appreciated by the other students either (not a great way to start the semester), not to mention it's illegal. The teacher should've checked first.

I would have told her off right then and there with a hugely smartass response. Sorry to hear of your loss. Did you correct her?
