Today, I went downstairs a little after midnight to grab a snack, and in the dark hallway, I clearly saw a small child walk into the kitchen. I was freaked out, but I followed him in. There was nobody in the room. I'm now too scared to sleep, and am seriously considering moving house. FML

OP, I admire you following him. I would have gotten the hell away from there.

Set up cameras, it was probably just a trick of the eye, or you have some paranormal gift.

You might want to contact Ed and Lorraine Warren about this.

Stay a little longer and see what happens

Wow, there have been a large increase in people buying houses built on Native American burial grounds. I guess it's because the prices are to die for.

Stuff like that happens to me all the time in my house, I've kinda gotten used to it. I figure as long as they stay benign and dont try to hurt me or anything ill leave them alone. Also dont forget, theres always a chance he was trying to show u something...

Thats horrifingly true. You Have amazing bravery to do that, I already would have gotten my ass the hell out of the hell ot of there by now.

Your comment gives me chills, but yes, you are extremely brave. I've never had this happen and I hope I never do. Excuse me while I go knock on some wood.

Don't be too worried. If it is a ghost, chances are it's been there for a while. The fact that you only just now are aware makes me think that it's benevolent (maybe even an imprint rather than a ghost, in which case there is certainly nothing to worry about). If you're that nervous about it, or if it starts causing trouble, you can try doing a sage smudging.

If sage doesn't work, then try being aggressive. Ghosts were people once. Just tell it you want it to leave and maybe it will listen. Also, it could be a lost spirit. I would take some pity on it considering it died at such a young age and may be wondering aimlessly. We shouldn't always push away things we don't understand.

A few years ago, my roommates and I had a ghost in the apartment we were living in. We called him Henry and he would walk around upstairs when no one else was up there, and liked the change the time on our clocks. Once, when I was resetting the clock again, I said "Henry this is our house, not yours, stop changing the clocks" and I heard the kitchen cupboard slam behind me. I was the only one home.

I've not logged in for ages and this if the first time I have, because of this FML. Do not worry. Unless you start hearing noises, things being moved or you feel yourself being shoved or attacked, this child is most likely harmless. Try listening to him, most 'ghosts' who are still around, as far as I have found, just need someone to talk to and some closure. My house is haunted, I have encountered many spirits/ghosts, they've all wanted closure. Unless they're violent and powerful, they're nothing to be feared.

I agree. We had a ghost in the house growing up and initially it scared the shit out of me. we made peace, became friendly and once she actually defended me against my psychopathic mother.

Well them moving things and making noises doesn't mean they're harmful though

Sheesh. Ghost kids have no manners anymore. Bet he was after your Wheat Thins.
