I totally get not spending much on a first date, but like...coffee and a walk in a park? Inexpensive and nice. And telling you that he didn't want to waste money on a first date? Not classy. My reaction would have been to say "Then don't worry, you don't have to spend money on a date at all!" And then exit stage left.

I agree, because him saying that kinda says no second date. He should have kept his comments to himself. There are way better cheap places to have first dates.
