Today, I went to a fast-food joint and ordered off the $1.00 menu to save money. Five hours later I go to the hospital with food-poisoning. After a whole day of not eating, crapping, puking, having tests, and a bunch of IV fluids, my $1.00 burger ended up costing me $2,000 in bills. Really. FML

You get food poisioning from something you ate 24 hours ago, not 5 hours ago. So... No law suit for you, maybe you have something else or it was an allergic reaction. But either way it's impossible you can call that a case of food poisioning. Bullshit!

#198: The symptoms from the most common types of food poisoning generally start within 2 to 6 hours of eating the food responsible. That time may be longer (even a number of days) or shorter, depending on the toxin or organism responsible for the food poisoning. For example: My mom got food poisoning within 3 hours from bad tuna she'd eaten.

boy am I glad that the Canadian government takes care of our health bills.

"Bread+tomato sauce+ground beef=enough for at least six burgers, less should be less than six bucks. #183 - 05/02/2009 at 10:17pm by GrapefruitZoe" Where in the galaxy do you live? Ground Beef around my parts(without counting in sales) is nearly 3.50$ a pound MINIMUM and can easily run up to 4$ a lb. Too top it off the main grocery for most of us poor folk around here only sales it in 2 or so lb increments. Though Chief's thankfully cuts in a sale quite often(offering beef at around 2 a lb) and tends to have it packaged in smaller 'friendlier' packages(of as little as .5-.6 a lb). It is cheaper to buy beef patties than it is to buy ground beef(which my mother finds utterly ridiculous). However, ground beef has many good uses. Pasta dishes can go a LONG way and require little beef/turkey/chicken/meat(compared to feeding everyone off hamburgers or some such). The real reason eating at McD's is because of pasta dishes. Spaghetti for example is 2.50 or so to make 1lb of it(including meat sauce). This isn't including the gas bill for running the burners. But I can usually make enough spaghetti to feed the family in less time to make enough hamburgers for all. Spaghetti is a great saver in bulk(its cooking time is pretty much the same whether you make 1lb or 2lbs, whereas hamburgers exponently increase since my pans can only hold 4 at a time at most(maybe five-six if I make tiny ones) and each batch takes 10-15 minutes). Same with most kinds of pasta that are mixed with meat. It goes a long way and is really cheap when compared to hamburgers(though the patties help, getting 20 quarter pound patties for 6'ish dollars isn't bad(It is a 5lb box, or 15+ dollars in ground beef)). However, OP, you really got bad luck this time around. Hopefully you can get compensated somehow.

lol all the stuff on the $1 menu must have been outdated

How could this POSSIBLY be a YDI?????

This is SO HORRIBLE! It totally sucks. FYL for sure.

That really sucks. ...but I'm missing the part where 36 hours later is still "today."
