Today, I went to babysit eight kids under the age of ten, all by myself. After five hours of Hell, the parents finally came back from the ASU game. I got paid $5. FML

Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML

Today, I babysat the most annoying and obnoxious kids for almost eight hours, when the parents assured me that they would only be gone about three or so hours. After constant calling and worrying, they finally showed up at 11:30, completely drunk. The mother paid me with three dollars and a banana. FML

Today, I was babysitting. Being kind, I went to grab their mail, while their 4 year old ate lunch. He locked me out, wrecked the house, and let me in right when he saw their car two hours later. I didn't get paid. I paid them. FML

Today, I was babysitting a couple of kids. I'd spent time with them before, so I brought my video game console to play with them. I forgot to take it home with me. They soon sold it to another kid for $10. FML

Today, I babysat for my neighbor's brat kid. The mom gave me $15 for 5 hours. I complained to my mom when I got home because last time I got $15/hour. Turns out my mom had told my neighbor that she thought they'd paid me too much last time. Thanks mom. Thanks. FML

Today, I babysat a kid who was such a bratty little prick that I actually considered walking out on the job. After his mom finally got home 4 hours later, he called her a slut. When he got in trouble for it, he claimed that I taught him the word. Needless to say, I didn't get paid. FML

Today, after my family left me at home for the weekend before finals while they went on vacation so I could focus on my studies, I spent the weekend watching my little cousins for no pay. It wasn’t an easy babysitting job either. I had to pay attention to and then re-enact basically every Bluey episode ever to exist, with no time to study. FML

ASU is one of the shittiest colleges in the country. It's full of a bunch of people who can't even make it in community college. Why would anyone even want to step foot on their campus?

Oh my god, that sucks!!! The LAST (literally last) time I babysat, it was for 4 bratty kids, I was paid like $10 for 6 hours. And this was AFTER we had discussed payment and it was sure as hell supposed to be more than that.

Concerning child care, 5-6 hours is considered a full day. Child care workers get paid much more than minimum wage. For a job like this I would have charged at least $100. If you want to be able to go out and have a social life...then you cannot have 8 kids. Your only option is to find another stupid couple who insist on ******* like bunnies and trade.

Whilst I agree that $5 is certainly too little, saying that they "are not allowed a social life" is extremely rude. My parents have fourteen of us (about a 2 year gap between each) and they certainly have a social life. The parents have a right to have as many children as they like, provided they are adequately cared for and are not sponging off the state. You don't know the circumstances here, maybe they had multiple births i.e. twins, in which case that's certainly not the parents' fault. The parents are obviously cheapskates, that doesn't make them not entitled to go out and see other people. Nor does having children. OP should have spoken to the parents before leaving the house, in which case, it's his /her fault, and also the fault of the parents for leaving the children in experienced hands. So stop telling people to "stop ******* like bunnies", it's a free country, they can do whatever the hell they like.

that aint bad i had to baby sit 12 kids all alone cause my dam sister bailed, and not only was it for all night it was for christmas & new years eve , and i didnt get payd a cent! why because their my dad friends kids!
