Today, I went to college, where I'm studying for my dream job. Despite getting up at 5am to catch the earliest bus into town, I arrived ten minutes late. My professor knows my circumstances, but is still threatening to kick me off the course if I don't "arrive on time like everyone else." FML

I know it sucks, but if he makes an exception for you he'll have to make one for everyone else. Maybe you could carpool with a classmate?

Get a car or hoof it to school. The rest of the students have to be there on time, it is no fair to make exceptions for you.

maybe you need to start camping at your school so youll never be late not unless you wake up late lol

Don't take such an early class unless you know you can get there on time every day. Take online classes if transportation is an issue. It's not fair to everyone else that gets there on time or early but you can come in late. There was a girl in my 9:30-10:45 class who consistently came in extremely late (10:30 or later), even if she had special circumstances it wasn't fair to the rest of us.

Sucks but that's all on you. It isn't high school, there are no exceptions

Well that's a bit much, most professors are understanding about being a little late. You should consider car pooling or stay with a friend if they have a house/dorm on campus.

Time to get a place closer to campus

What professor would give a shit about your 'circumstances'? Good teachers don't make exceptions.

Ok guys, please stop acting like a professor should give special treatment, buying a car is an option, or some other stupid stuff. This is college. No one made OP register and pay for a class that was too early. It's not like it's the only time the class will ever be offered and it's the only class OP could take. In the real world, will OP's hard ass boss give a damn if he can't get to work on time? Hell no. This is real shit.

Maybe OP is taking a class that is only offered once a year. Then they would be forced to take that class.

My teacher in Freshman year gave you a tardy (aka 30min of detention which ends up being a 12 mile walk home because I miss the bus) if you weren't there on time even if u had a doctor excuse or note or if your school bus got there late and you just got to school. I ended up walking home on the rain 3 times and walking home when it was 105F outside in my black choir outfit
