Cosmetics - IE makeup, fake nails, waxing, and the like. Here are a few definitions, just for your pleasure - 1. cosmetic - Any substances applied to enhance the external color or texture of the skin, e.g. lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner; makeup; A feature existing only on the surface; External or superficial; pertaining only to the surface or appearance of something. What does this one tell you? 2. cosmetologist - a person who advises people (normally women) on cosmetics and other beauty treatments; a beautician. (other beauty treatments, such as the usual seen in a salon - nail treatments, waxing, hair straightening/perming/keratin treatments -- Note that hair colouring and styling are not mentioned. That's for a reason. See the definition below for a reference as to why. 3. hairdresser: someone who cuts or beautifies hair. (ie colouring, styling, and yes, straightening/perming/etc can be considered a hairdresser's job. The first two are not a cosmetologist's job.)
