Today, I went to take my driver's test, and I did almost everything perfectly. The last thing was to back into a driveway. As I went to put my hand on the passenger seat to look over my shoulder, I got so nervous that I hit my instructor in the face. FML

I'm sure he couldn't hold it against you! After all, beating your passengers doesn't make you a bad driver...

ok dumbass you obviously don't know how to drive because you are supposed to use your mirrors instead of looking over your shoulder

Nice to see someone else who knows how to drive, I was starting to feel lonely

That's as incorrect as hell. Both options are good, and most driving schools still teach the looking-over-the-shoulder method.

Before moving off you should physically look over your shoulder both ways as this person was probably doing, this is to check your blind spots, where you can't see in the mirror. If you miss this you will fail.

For those of you who seem to have a difficult time grasping the concept of where your blind spots are, hopefully this link will help you http://www.drivingtesttips.biz/images/car-blind-spot.jpg If not I'll drop to my knees and thank the good Lord above that you don't live near me

Get a life, mate. Dunno what your overriding OBSESSION with the topic of blind spots is all about, but it's a little creepy.

Well put. people looking through the back window instead of using their mirrors has just always been a major pet peeve of mine because on several occasions over the past 12 years I've seen people scrape cars while backing into spots because they're only worried about what's directly behind them and not paying attention to the car beside them. So I'm just trying to get people to realize that if their mirrors are properly adjusted they should have no problem using them to back into parking spots or drive ways. Sorry about being so obsessive, I just hate people telling me I'm wrong when I know I'm right.
