Today, I went to the beach. After applying sunscreen liberally and doing my best to stay out of the sun, I came home with the worst sunburn I have ever had. I almost needed to go to the hospital. I am officially too pale to be allowed outside in summer. FML

About ten yrs. ago my family decided a Memorial day cook out at the lake was the best way to celebrate( along with many other people in Florida). I had on SPF 80 sun screen, a hat, t-shirt and shorts, and stayed in the shade reading a book. We left after three hours. a few hours later I had to go to the ER with sun poisoning and second degree burns. I'm so pale, an albino once asked me if I was albino to. I feel your pain OP. Feel better soon! ( sorry if it re-posts my app is still acting up)

I am too white as well. I am so white that my skin color is red and the only color I get is more freckles (I am only 1/16 Irish, but it is strong). This summer is the first time I could ever tan, I'm 15, and I go down to Florida at least 2 times a year. I got sunburned in June by going on a cruise to Canada and spent too much time eating on the Lido deck.
