Today, I went to the doctor to get a blood test and I started crying when I saw the needle. I planned on becoming a doctor. FML

Close your eyes every time you put a needle in someone's arm. What could possibly go wrong?

Mayyybeee you'll laugh evilly when the needle is in your hands!

Anatomy & Physiology 101 - If you can't eat lunch surrounded by corpses, you're not made for the job.

You'll get over it I'm sure. Don't give up on your dream for something like that, needles are not a bit issue in actuality, and with regular exposure your fear should lesson over time providing you can cope with the slight increase in fear at exposure.

You know generally doctors don't deal with the needles that much, the nurses do

Maybe you cried because the needle was going into your skin.

You're going to let a fear stand in the way of your dream? That's the first step towards failure.

A two week IV course of having other students practice on me was all it took to get me over my needle-phobia.

This makes you more, not less, likely to get over your squeamishness once and for all and actually become a doctor. The harder challenges are the ones that work.
