Today, I went to visit some family out of state for my niece's birthday. I couldn't think of what to get an 8-year-old so I got her a Barbie doll. Everyone else got her money, iPods, game consoles, etc. When she got to mine she asked "how do I turn it on?" Then threw it away when she couldn't. FML

Man I got my first iPod when I was 11, and even then it's only a nano. I still use it today... I don't get why people need SO much stuff.

I still have some if my old barbies, and so does my mom. Maybe barbie times have changed, but that shure is sad, since that was a toy that required somewhat imagination.

Wow. I remember jacks, pick up sticks, curb ball,...kids today are too spoiled but its not the fault of the kids. It's the parents and society.

I don't think anything is wrong with giving children high-end gifts, but I kinda feel bad some of them will never appreciate good ol' fashioned toys.
