Today, I woke up from the worst nightmare I've ever had. After tearfully explaining to my boyfriend, in detail, how bad this dream was, he told me to "put on my big girl panties" and make him breakfast. FML

Isn't it ironic how he tells YOU to grow up, yet he wants someone to go cook him breakfast like he's a little kid who needs his mommy to do things for him. If anyone needs to grow up, it's your immature, insensitive 5 year old boyfriend.

1- you r so stupid. Op was crying over a dream -.-

94- u r so ******* stupid. If you're talking about sexist roles than woman should stay at home all day and make their man a sandwich. Now I don't think that right. We live in the 21st century where EVERYONE is ******* equal. There is no such thing as gender roles.

Honestly why the hell is she with him in the first place a huge YDI for being a doormat and sticking with a shitty bf >.>

That's complete garbage. I feel spoiled now, because my boyfriend always makes me a nice breakfast when he is over. I always cook a nice dinner and buy his favorite snacks. We take good care of each other. You deserve better than that.

You kinda deserve it if you are willing to date such an incredible douche canoe

It astounds how many people fail to grasp that being upset by a nightmare doesn't mean that you believe it's real or that you don't have a grasp on reality. It's like looking at someone crying over a movie and telling them they're obviously mentally ill for sympathizing with fictional characters - except worse, because when you have a nightmare your own mind turns into a theatre of horrors and as a bonus visits all your worst memories on you. Some people have more vivid dreams than others. If you do not have vivid dreams, count yourself extremely lucky. But it's not about whether you are mature or not, it is neurological, and you can't change it. For some people, dreaming nightmares is like living through the thing for real, and immediately feeling better after waking up is completely unrealistic. Often it also helps to talk about it and have a good cry about having had to experience something upsetting, even if it turned out not to be real. And then you get over it, because it IS just a dream - unless your dream stems from some kind of trauma, of course. In any case, you should never treat something that hurts another human being as irrelevant just because you can't relate to it. tldr: Don't be an asshole and assume that your way of experiencing things is the only valid one.

I haven't had a nightmare in forever. I guess it's since the scariest part of life is waking up nowadays. If I do have anything close to a nightmare it usually involves going for a swim in murky waters with crocodiles lurking nearby. Can't imagine a nightmare that would make me cry but he still sounds really insensitive. I would never tell someone to go make me breakfast.

You are a woman, not a piece of property that has to obey to him. He sounds like a disrespectful asshole. You should cook food and trip on "accident" and dump it on him.
