Aw, how precious! Yes, that is slight sarcasm. Sorry that your cat chose such a weird place to give birth... Most of the cats my family had would do it in a private place.

Not necessarily. Some people who want an animal should get it from a young age so it can be raised a certain way. People can't always take in animals off of the streets due to feral behavior. Those animals have to be captured and put in special foster homes to be acclimated to the environment prior to adoption.

I think if my cat was pregnant and giving birth I would've stayed up to make sure she and her kittens were okay...but hey, I guess that's just too crazy and selfless these days.

Who said anything about going back to sleep?! I was talking about the fact that she went to sleep in the first place - she must have known the cat was pregnant and was due. They display specific behaviours when they're getting ready.
