Today, I was woken up by the sound of someone in my room. I started freaking out, thinking someone had broken in, so I kicked them, only to realise it was my boyfriend coming back from the toilet. I'd forgotten he was staying over. FML

Today, my boyfriend thought it would be romantic to throw pebbles at my bedroom window in the middle of the night. It triggered the burglar alarm, which woke up everyone in the house. If my parents didn't know I had a boyfriend before, they certainly do now. FML

Today, my boyfriend tried to climb up to my third story window in the early hours of the morning. Just before he got to the top, he slipped and fell to the ground. My dad had to drive him to the hospital at 3am. FML

YDI- Sneaking around in your parents house is disrespectful. If you're not old/mature enough to have a private place of your own, you're not old/matute enough to have "sleepovers." That being said, I hope your boyfriend didn't catch too much hell for bring there. Hopefully they don't disapprove of him forever :(

i had to share a room with my sister until i was 18 years old. im pretty sure i was mature/old enough for my own space before then i just didnt see the point of moving out before i moved for uni. i do see your point though. even at 17 i wasnt sneaking people into my room and it would have been easy to take advantage of the fact that my sister is practically deaf. a little respect goes a long way. gotta earn the right for "sleepovers" at your parents house.

I don't think you're mature enough to make those decisions when you're in high school, whether you think you are at the time or not. Plus it still comes down to respect. If they put a roof over your head and pay the bills, you follow their rules.

Hey, don't worry. Lucy from 50 First Dates did the same thing, and they still ended up together! Of course, she had a brain injury to blame for not remembering the guy in her bed...maybe you should see a doctor?
