Today, I worked a full day and then went to a three-hour class. I got home at 9 PM, and before the door closed I heard, "There's a sink full of dishes for you." There are three able-bodied men in the house, all of whom got here hours ago and created that sink full of dishes. FML

Let me guess-you did them? That is why they expect you to do them-you let them push you around like that. Tell them to do them.

if you did the dishes then YDi for being a pushover and letting them treat you like a doormat. I hope you had some self respect and also treated them like capable people by refusing to do them and let them do them- unless of course you all take turns and it was your turn

I can't help but hear this being said with my mom's voice when I read this.

So make them wash their own dishes. If you keep cleaning up after them, they're never going to take the initiative to start doing it themselves. Most men don't do these things unless you lay down the law fairly frequently. If you're not telling them what they need to do, you can't expect them to do it automatically, no matter how man times you've told them before.

I really hope you didn't actually do the dishes, OP. And if these three men are just roommates (as opposed to a husband and kids), then move out. If they are family, I'd have a serious talk with them if I were you.

Maybe the have some sort of system like my family had when I was a boy. Each day was another members turn for dishes. Granted that's no excuse for the first thug being said as "Oy! Dishes!", though it could easily be an overstatement as she was working and such all day.

Slap them for being so disrespectful then make them wash them... for a week or more..

Buy a dishwasher and everyone's happy. They won't change and OP will still be a pushover, but at least the dishes won't get crusty.

Why buy a new dishwasher when the current one just needs a small repair? *Badum tssh*

I hope you told em all to eff off!

don't do the dishes and just wash what you eat off otherwise they'll just expect you to do them and never help out. or get a dishwasher

Solution if you're extra nice : offer them sponges and soap, and give them a link to a random Y**T**** video along the lines of "Washing dishes for dummies".

tell them to f**k off and do their own dishes, then go to bed... problem solved. :)
