Today, I wrote a poem for this guy I am falling for. Before telling him that I wrote it, he read it and then laughed at how "corny and stupid" it was because he would "never date someone who could come up with something that lame." The poem was about how vulnerable he makes me feel. FML

It's cool that you had the guts to gave him a poem you wrote yourself, but you really shouldn't write about how vulnerable someone makes you feel. And they're a little overdone, making them even more corny. Not everyone appreciates poetry though.

Gotta wonder what the hell made you think that a guy would fall for you over a poem, much less one about how vulnerable the dude makes you feel. Those kinds of messages tend to make dudes run for the hills while they still can.

That sucks, but it does work better if you know the guy likes poetry. If he talked about 'never dating someone' he probably knew it was from you, though, and FYL.

Hang onto the poem anyway. It's more important for you to have it than for anyone else to appreciate it. Also, have you ever seen The Rock? (Nick Cage, Sean Connery) You know where he rants about how it would be just horrible to bring a child into this screwed-up world, then she tells him she's pregnant and he completely reverses? She calls him on it and he says, "Well, gosh! Kind of a lot's happened since then!" He might change his tune once he knows it's about HIM, and YOU. It's easy to mouth off about other people (for reference, see this site!), but when it's YOU... *hugs* anyway. Sorry you got stomped on.

What a jerk. Not all guys appreciate poetry, though... and maybe it wasn't that good... but still if he said that sort of stuff he's OBVIOUSLY not meant for you. The guy who was meant for you would probably think it was sweet or something
