Today, I yelled at a new employee for violating the company's makeup policy which is minimum coverage. She had red lipstick, very dark drawn eyebrows, and foundation that made her look like a ghost. She took out a makeup wipe and used it then showed me it, only to reveal she doesn't wear any. FML

I'm sorry op but ydi. Always ask before you assume. Assumptions often lead to bad results.

next time dont be such an asshole. dont you have anything better to worry about than someone wearing make up? YDI I'm happy you made an ass of yourself. poetic justice.

i voted YDI as soon as i read "yelled at the new employee"

But then why did she have the makeup wipes?! Fake wipes I tell ya.

If she was new maybe you Needed to make her aware of the policy . And if she was aware pulling her aside and talking to her in a constructive way always gets a better response than pushing your authority .

Was that really something worth yelling at her for? Especially because she's new. A simple warning would've been sufficient.

Who hired this girl? If her natural looks were a problem, it should have been addressed before hiring her. If she only looked like this AFTER being hired, then, maybe she did go against company policy. But you still had no right to yell at her.

There is makeup you can apply to mask makeup wipes...
