If you never brought it up..you kind of deserve it. If you HAD however mentioned "OMG next month is giong to be our one year anniversary :D" or something along those lines, FYL :/ but its pretty likely he just forgot anyway, you can't get too mad at just that.
Jesus christ, matrialistic bastards the lot of you... Point 1: It actually is the thought that ***** (I'm guessin he would have gotten some if he brought/bought her flowers...) Point 2: We are in a financial crisis here, and even though gaming consoles are complete necessities for some of us (LIKE ME), how the **** anyone can say she deserved beeing forgotten, just because she bought a PS 2, instead of the greatest and latest is beyond me... (I looove way too long sentences..) Point 3 We know nothing about neither of the two, maybe he was bored with his ps 3 and it's sucky games, and wanted one of the good ol' retro machines??? Heck, my Wii, 360 AND PSP gathers dust at the moment... N64 on the other hand, gets played on a daily basis!! ****, I never get preachy on this site, but this time.... Press ydi for better reasons than the gift! jesus
YDI, granted, in my last relationship my girlfriend forgot our anniversary and I never let her live it down.
If you want a boy to remember something like an anniversary you have to remind him. A few times, like a month ahead and then that week. Don't go buy something huge and expect him to reciprocate when you hadn't even established that he knew there was an event. Most guys brains don't work like yours, so you have to let him know what you expect.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAH That's karma for buying your boyfriend an obsolete video game console LMFAO!!
Wow most of you people are assholes. First, many people who are dating celebrate yearly anniversaries, it's not ******* taboo. If this was a monthly anniversary, that would be different - but for some people, getting to a year is a big deal for them, especially if they're younger and haven't had such success before. Second, you people are saying "YDI, who gets someone a PS2? Shoulda got him a PS3." are absolutely pathetic. How do you know he hadn't WANTED a PS2 for a while and the OP picked up on it & got it for him? Or maby she didn't have enough money to get him a PS3? He obviously didn't DESERVE a PS3 for his lack of consideration. You people are the poster children for greedy little children who only want what they WANT and if they don't get it they're gonna throw a tantrum, "WAAAAHH YOU GOT ME THE PS2 INSTEAD OF THE PS3?! I DON'T WANT IT, TAKE IT BACK MOMMYYYYY! WWWWAHHHHHH!" Do you see how ******* ridiculous you are?
Not a true FML. I'm a girl and I have forgotten dating anniversaries. So when he says that, you say to him sweetly, "It's our 1st/2nd/whatever anniversary." And he will go "oh". And then you suggest that you guys go out on a nice date. Or suggest that he buys some games for the PS2 that you can play with him. Or whatever it is you want that won't make you sound spoiled and demanding. Ex: don't be like "muhaha you owe me jewelry now."

Wow, not even a 'thankyou'. That's pretty bad.
My brother's girlfriend bought him a PS2 last year... because he wanted one. not everyone wants things that are the top of the range, he wanted to play the old games because he enjoyed them.
