Today, it's my 18th birthday. My parents got me a $5 gift certificate to iTunes. It came for free with the iPhone they just bought my sister for her middle school graduation. FML

#19: Just turning 18 does not make you an adult. And I know that the parents are favoring the little sister, but maybe OP's family is like once your 18 you are an adult; therefore you can take care of yourself.

well, even if it isn't fake, that still sucks big time... and maybe it's an upcoming graduation? i'd rather my parents not get me anything, then think that they "forgot" and just grabbed the nearest thing...
