well happy birthday :D
here's something to cheer you up: graphic calculators are soooo cool! I got one this year and I'm addicted to the thing, becuz I put Snake on it and I play that 24/7. You can do that too! a graphic cal. is like a mobile phone, all the functions and stuff, it just can't call or text. You can even put songs on it and plug in earphones! Happy bday
So, it's like a mobile phone, but you can't call or text, & you can put music on it? And games? Sounds like an iPod to me.
why do so many girls complain about getting their period? it's not a big deal. unless your cramps like make you cry.
Some girls do get very severe cramps, some get severely ill because of it, some last the whole length of the period, some only last the first (few) days. However, either way, you have a point, scvcwcheer, as I do believe that the girl in question should be used to it, because usually, it's always that way, so she'd have to learn to deal with it.
Uh, because they're the worst thing any healthy middle-class female will ever have to put up with? Duh? If there were any fairness in the world, of course, guys would get them instead. The bastards deserve it.
well, my other comment dissappeared, but it said, i know, sometimes it is severe (which i also stated in my original comment) but i wasnt referring to them, i mean the ones who dont have it severe. they need to suck it up, cuz theyre not the only ones, and almost all girls go through it
Even regular, ie not severe, periods come with some combination of pain (cramps and elsewhere), bloating, nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, lack of energy, sleep issues, water retention, etc. Just because you're not bedridden every month doesn't mean your period is easy to deal with and ignore. On top of all of that, you get the biggie: PMS/mood swings. Unless you have experience with way out of whack hormones, you can't really judge. It makes dealing with the rest even more difficult. IMO, the PMS is the worst, because you can recognize that you're being irrational and overly emotional, but it's still hard to control. Very frustrating, especially if you try hard to not use it as an excuse for bitchery, like me.
Yeah, you learn to deal with it, but throwing up for a day a month isn't exactly something anyone would ever like.
This "FML" is so poor and pathetic I won't even "rate" it.
yea so your life when you bother to write a comment on a boreing FML
Life could be so much worse. But getting your period on your birthday is no fun. :( I sympathize a little bit
Happy birthday! Hope you like calculating when you get your next period!
That is so weird. I just got a graphing calculator this weekend and I had my period this past week. But it's not my birthday

Actually, as the OP said she "got her period" i.e.; started it, the odds would be much lower. If she was regular as clockwork at 28 days per cycle, that would be 13 times a year, which means there would be a 3.6% chance the first day of a period would coincide with her birthday, meaning it happened roughly once every 28 years. Bloody statistics...
If you're into maths/science, a calculator is an extremely useful present. As for the period part, well, you either will get used to it, or you should be by now. Though if you're unlucky enough to get seriously ill each month, then I can understand why you're complaining about that.
