I used to be a paramedic like you but then I took a bullet in the arm.

Maybe if you were a police officer this would be true...

Shot with a firearm or needle?

108 - change your picture to slowpoke, cause that's old and dead.

OP, sorry you were indoctrinated by fire. The job does have its sucky moments. Unfortunately you had the suckiest of sucky moments. At least you can say its all good from here on. In my career as a medic, I've been shot at, stabbed, punched, kicked, scratched and spat on. It's an unfortunate risk of the job. Most times the circumstances are completely avoidable. Just try to be more aware of your environment in the future to avoid future risks. You will hear people telling you to find a different career. Don't do it! The job has its inherent risks, but it is a rewarding vocation in the end. 99.9% of the people you treat will be complete assholes. Hang in the for the 0.1% that makes it worthwhile. Remember, wounds heal and chicks dig scars.
