Today, it was my first day on the job as a first grade teacher. One student pushed another, so I asked him to apologize. His response? "If you boss me around, I'll tell Daddy you touched me somewhere you shouldn't have." I think I'm now this kid's slave. FML

don't get too freaked out. don't count on parent support necessarily either. be firm. you're only his bitch if you choose to be. remember that you have support too, including access to a lawyer if you are part of a teaching agency. document the incident and tell your boss. this is all experience

If only they still allowed teachers to spank students with rulers or something we wouldn't have so many problems in our schools, look at the older generations, they wouldn't pull half the crap kids pull these days because teachers laid down the law where parents fail to so.

Why would you not send the kid to the principals office and call his parents? You can't be some 6/7year old's bitch for a year. Grow a pair, even if you have to be investigated, you didn't do it, the kid's medical reports will show no signs of it, no other kids will be saying it. Yeah, it'll be a pain in the ass, but it's better than letting some bratty kid get away with that attitude. Start reading the boy who cried wolf and look them dead in the eye.

lol medical evidence? this isnt csi... they arent going to scan the childs clothes for hair fibers and dna, theres no testing to prove you TOUCHED a child.

I don't envy you, but the kid who even think of trying something like that with me would get the slap of his life. And when he gets back up, sometimes near the end of the class, I would take him aside and give him a serious talk. Add 20 years to a kid like that with no one standing up to him, and you get a criminal that will either spend most of his life in jail or make you wish he did.

Spanking is not the end all answer. I've never gotten in trouble as a kid so was never punished... Much less spanked! There are better methods for disciplining children.
