Yikes! While I do have a fairly high IQ (profoundly gifted:186) I have gotten scores similar to yours on online tests, so no worries there. To those people who think the son is super smart, he is just on the high end of average (85-115) and not gifted (130+), genius (160+), profoundly gifted (180+) or a savant (190+). I'm sure you and your son are quite smart people :)
I know you could be telling the truth, but if we believed everyone who posted their IQ scores online, nearly everyone gets 120+ and a good 10% are geniuses.
I flagged your comment because you're full of it. Where's your PhD ?
You know intelligence decreases while not doing jack s@#t. So even if you had 186 (which I doubt) sitting on fml will cerainly make it fall :P When I was bit younger I got 136 but I bet due to bein a lazy person i't closer to 125 right now :D + anyway for that high score I think you need to take a special Mensa test. I know a guy who had measured at least 156. That is he could have more but he needs to take a higher grade test. Same for me where I once did such a test and did everything but 1 thing correct meaning there are more grades. + anyway you could just learn how to do IQ tests by repeating them
Ok you must be taking some different test because you would be smarter than smarter than Einstein
Fun fact: Einstein didn't have a particularly high IQ
I realize how profound my claim sounds, (especially online) so I honestly don't mind if you choose not to believe me :) P.S. My (phycologist issued, up-to-date) testing was about four years ago, so it could've dropped slightly since then. To the person who asked where my PhD is, I have yet to enter high school. (13 going on 14)
Show me your Mensa membership. I call BS
Also, savants generally have an IQ lower than 70. I'm not sure you actually know what a savant is.
You and peter griffin have something in common.
At least you found a website that gives an IQ. Most of the tests I take require some piece of information to recieve my score.
I got 113
Average IQ is 100, though the fact you thought your kid might be special needs makes me he think socially depending on his age just might be awkward or naive which doesn't hurt his ability to do math problems but could be an issue making friends.
OP thought he himself may have some form of mental disability, not the child.
Don't take it to be a measurement of your intelligence. IQ tests measure very small types facets of intelligence. Like someone else said, you may have a small issue from a really big pool of issues that can dramatically affect a persons result. Some people are perfectly intelligent, yet they have difficulty processing information when it's on paper. Some people have dyslexia. Also if it's an internet test, do not take it as fact. If you really do believe you may have a learning difficulty, or these results are bothering you, speak to your doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist or a doctor of psychology. These people can go through interesting tests with you and can analyse what's going on for you - and will provide you ways to improve any issues.
online IQ tests are stupid, they dont actually determine how smart you are. so dont worry about it too much!
