Today, my 17-year-old son hacked off the legs of his bed with a saw. His explanation? "The bed looks cooler closer to the floor." FML

Just throw him a blanket and let him sleep on the floor. He'll be the coolest kid in the neighborhood.

If he cut it so the whole bed is level I'm impressed

You deserved it because you have a teenager.

This is not an FML moment what so ever.

I love all the comments here saying it's OK. I guess none of them stopped to think who paid for that bed.

I think they are saying his logic is intact. Yeah, he should have asked first, but I think he would have got a 'no'. Lol

Use the discarded legs to make platform shoes, then when you yell at him to get out of bed you'll appear just as cool.

I read this wrong, thought you said he cut off his leg, haha.

I THOUGHT IT SAID HE HACKED HIS OWN LEGS OFF WITH A SAW OMG

Unless it was some kind of antique bed, I don't really see the problem here. It's not like the bed has stopped functioning as a bed, it's just got shorter/no legs. I do agree with a couple of the other commenters, too, it's kind of impressive that the kid could get the legs off without losing a hand or putting holes in the floor in the process.

Agreed. As long as the OP doesn't give in if he starts whinging about wanting a new bed BECAUSE he hacked off the legs, who does it hurt? If his bed is now uneven or uncomfortable, he only has himself to blame and he can save up money to buy himself a new one if that's the case.
